At the time of the GSO award, Stella was an undergraduate student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program at Â鶹ÊÓƵ University.  With prior experience in small-scale health issues pertaining to pharmacy and clinical practices, Stella is enthusiastic about enhancing her understanding of large-scale global health and health systems matters. During her free time, Stella enjoys volunteering for her community.

Stella is a Global Skills Opportunity (GSO) awardee who travelled to South Africa to work with the Pan-African Collective for Evidence (PACE). Through this opportunity, Stella gained an understanding of evidence synthesis within the context of South African health systems and policy. Additionally, she sought to gain insight on South African culture. Stella hopes to utilize this knowledge in her future healthcare studies in Canada, applying it to relevant contexts.
