Erin Lin

Queen Elizabeth Scholar in Strengthening Health and Social Systems (2023)

At the time of the QE Scholarship, Erin was a graduate student in the Master of Global Health program at Â鶹ÊÓƵ University, specializing in the Globalization and Equity stream. Prior to her graduate studies, she worked at Â鶹ÊÓƵ Continuing Education to promote lifelong learning among mature students and conducted an updated literature review on palliative care in humanitarian crises with the Humanitarian Health Ethics Research Group. Interested in the potential of cutting-edge technology in improving healthcare provision, she is currently leading a systematic review of the role of machine learning in neurocritical care, funded by University Health Network and the Temerty Centre for AI Research and Education in Medicine. For Erin’s graduate scholarly paper, she is explored the intersectional health impacts of neoliberalism and transnational corporation practices on the people living in the Global South.

As an outbound Queen Elizabeth Scholar, Erin travelled to Sydney, Australia, to work in the Decision Analytics Program at the Sax Institute. She looked forward to developing systems maps related to climate change and health, as well as using dynamic simulation modelling to create interactive, evidence-informed decision-support tools. During her internship, she hoped to learn how to effectively integrate evidence and stakeholder insights into policymaking tools to support the development of sustainable and equitable health programs in Australia.
